Lakeland’s first ever public disc golf course is coming to town this month and we want to share a little insider information about all things Hidden Oaks Disc Golf Course before their grand opening.
This new 18-hole course was designed by local professionals who are dedicated to bringing in talent of all levels and creating a fun, yet rigorous, disc golf course for the public’s enjoyment. The layout has both the front and back 9 holes starting and finishing near the parking area shared with the Se7en Wetlands park, so after a few rounds of disc golf you can head on over to the wetlands and enjoy Florida nature at its finest!
On June 23rd, at Loyce Harpe Park, you will find all the local disc golf professionals gathered together for the ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:00am. Following the ceremony, there will be the first disc golf throw and unique games that people can participate in for a chance to win a great prize! If you don’t know how to play and want to learn, there will be a disc golf clinic for beginners in attendance. They will even give you a free putter and midrange disc to get you on the path to disc golf stardom. From 12:00pm – 2:00pm you will be able to play with these professionals and put your new skills to the test. The professionals will play a few holes with you to help you hone your skills and to show you how it’s done in the big leagues. It will be a time to enjoy the great outdoors with some dedicated Lakelanders, so mark your calendars for an afternoon full of disc golf adventures!
