Summer in Lakeland: sunny days, flip flops and an ice-cold drink, barbecues with friends. These are all images we conjure up when thinking about everyone’s favorite months, when kids are out of school and summer lovin’ commences.
But this Tuesday the forecast calls for snow. ❄️
Merry Leon (Noel spelled backwards), an event celebrating the midway point between January 1st and December 25th, is back in downtown Lakeland. A stress-free and fun shopping event, participating shops will offer special discounts and deals you won’t find any other time of the year. This is the perfect event for the mega-planner to get their Christmas shopping done six months in advance!
Event attendees can purchase a downtown “passport” for $5 or donate the equivalent amount of personal products like toothpaste, deodorant, etc. to The Villages of Noah’s Landing, a community for young adults with special needs. These passports will list all 13 local businesses participating in Merry Leon. Attendees can visit those businesses, get their passport stamped, and turn in the completed passport in at the last business visited on that night. Completed passports will enter a drawing to be held on Friday the 23rd for various gift certificates to be used at one or more of the participating businesses.
Participating businesses are:
Pumpernaks (with Lemon Street Corner Shop)
