Which ‘wich? The swan city’s top sandwich shops.

Happy National Sandwich Month! We’re celebrating all month long with some footlong offerings. Here are five of our favorite sandwich shops around Lakeland!

The Strawberry Hut

Serving up some of the most authentic pressed-to-perfection Cubans in Lakeland, we were so psyched when the Strawberry Hut came to the city a couple years ago. The sandwich shop lives up to its name serving up sweet goodness with a leaner Turkey Cuban, a pork sandwich, a cheeseburger, a Philly cheese steak and a ham & cheese sandwich. Check out their lunch menu.

Subs ‘n Such

Another Lakeland original, Subs ‘n Such offers a delicious range of sandwiches from chicken salad to chicken parm. With gorgeous toasted breads and piled-high meats, Subs ‘n Such is a definite “best bang for your buck” place. It’s quick, reasonably priced, and made to order with quality bread and the menu options are extensive.

Black & Brew

Each month, Black & Brew changes their beverage specialty menu according to seasons and holidays. Try their home-made soda flavor of the month! Their soft drinks are freshly created with organic ingredients. And their variety of sandwiches (always changing) is unmatched.

Silver Ring Café

Quite the competitor in the Cuban sandwich realm, Silver Ring is one of our favorite places for a cheap yet delicious dine. A sandwich-lover’s-heaven, this local lunch restaurant is located just across from historic Munn Park. We recommend you grab a fresh Cuban sandwich and eat it under the shady oaks scattered throughout the downtown square.

The Purple Onion

Another local favorite, the Purple Onion serves a variety of lunchtime classics in addition to daily specials. Grilled specialties, pita wraps, cold and hot subs all grace the menu. Pork tenderloin sandwiches are available, right next to the classic BLT.
