Mayfaire by-the-lake is back, and 47 years never looked so good on a Lakeland event! This Mother’s Day weekend fine arts festival is always a fan favorite, so we highly recommend that you get just as excited as we are for everything that Mayfaire has to offer.
With all of our lovely lakes, you must be wondering which one is lucky enough to host this event. Mayfaire by-the-lake conveniently takes place at Lake Morton during the day. Saturday night festivities, which include live music, a MIDFLORIDA Mayfaire 5k, and a fireworks show at 9pm, will take place just two blocks over at Lake Mirror (read more about Saturday night here).
For those of you who haven’t experienced Mayfaire before, we’ve got you covered. Mayfaire began in 1971 as a small craft fair on the lawn of the Public Library and has now grown into a premier event for Central Florida, taking place on the shores of Lake Morton every Mother’s Day weekend. The event includes scores of artists showcasing their work, plus plenty of food and live music (any Lakelander’s two favorite things). If you’re looking to buy a unique, handcrafted Mother’s Day present for your mom while enjoying the Florida sunshine, Mayfaire is the perfect place for you.
This year, the event will feature artists specializing in everything from pottery and jewelry to painting and photography. The booths surround Lake Morton, and it’s a nice little stroll around the lake to see all the artwork. It’s a guarantee that your artistic taste will be satisfied.
