Leave Room for Dessert

November 24th, 2009 15:44 | by Kristy Myers

One of the best parts of Thanksgiving is the pie for dessert, just ask the Reececliff on S. Florida Avenue. The Reececliff, a restaurant/ diner known for it’s homemade pies, has around 300 pie orders this Thanksgiving. Three hundred orders must say something about their pies!

I went to the Reececliff last night to try a piece of one of these famous local pies, and it was a delicious experience. I ordered a slice of the apple pie with ice cream ($3.50) and a coffee. The apple’s in the pie were baked just right and seasoned with the perfect blend of cinnamon and sugar. The lattice top crust was sweet and flaky and also baked to perfection.

If apple pie isn’t your favorite, Reececliff has a bunch of other pies to choose from: cherry, coconut cream, blueberry, pumpkin, egg custard, pecan, and peanut butter to name a few. All of the whole pies are $9.00 excluding blueberry and pecan which are $12.00.

So, if you need a pie to bring home for Thanksgiving or you are simply looking for a great place to go for a slice, Reececliff on South Florida Avenue is the place. Happy Thanksgiving…Remember to save room for dessert!
