Last night my boyfriend and I decided to try Mt. Fuji after a friend told us you could get a lot of food to-go for a great price. Mt. Fuji has a large buffet full of various Japanese food and you can get it to-go or dine in. The restaurant is really nice, but we just wanted to grab something quick so we asked for to-go containers for the buffet. The buffet had foods such as crab ranchors, General Tso’s chicken, sweet and sour chicken, spicy shrimp, crab legs, ribs, spring rolls, fried rice, lo mein, beef and broccoli and more. They also have a strictly sushi buffet, if you are into sushi. The buffet is $5.00 a pound for non-seafood items and $7.00 a pound for the seafood. The waitress gave us a container and then we just chose what we wanted and when we were done they weighed it and that was that! I got the General Tso’s chicken, fried rice, 2 spring rolls, and a sweet bun and it came to just a little over a pound. My boyfriend loaded up his to-go box with a bunch of different stuff and his also came to a little over a pound. For the both of us our total was about $12.00, a great deal for all of the food and variety of food we got!

My chicken, rice, and spring rolls were really good. The chicken was coated in a spicy sauce that was delicious. The spring rolls were vegetable and had cabbage and some other veggies in them and they too were really good. The rice was your typical fried rice and went along nicely with my chicken. My boyfriend enjoyed all of the food he got as well. Mt. Fuji is by far the best asian food I have had in Lakeland yet and the price is great.

If you are looking to have a more formal dinner, you can dine in and eat from the buffet or you can sit at the Hibachi Bar and watch your food being prepared right in front of you. Naturally it cost’s a little more to dine in.

Mt. Fuji Japanese Steak House and Sushi Buffet is located in Southgate Plaza. They are open Mon-Thurs 11am-10pm, Fri-Sat 11am-11pm and Sun 11:30am-10pm.
